Inspiring BioInnovation and Entrepreneurship at Higher Education Institutions in Europe: The First Step in BioEntrepreneurship.

The BIOINNO pilot project is offering an online course in Bioinnovation and Entrepreneurship through its e-learning platform BIOINNO2GO. The course provides a perspective on education that is much broader than any other stand-alone business school.
Explore how to think about entrepreneurial action, how to recognize opportunities, and how to identify and develop innovative ideas into new creative ventures. Learn how to develop successful business models and how to create innovative-based companies in the biotech sector.

About the Course

The BIOINNO is a four-unit entrepreneurship course for graduate and post-graduates students. There are no course prerequisites. This course is based on new teaching and learning methodologies designed by the BIOINNO’s university and industry partners. The aim of this course is to bring together talented individuals from diverse backgrounds and institutions in order to stimulate new conversations and opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures and to introduce students to entrepreneurial actions in order to better understand how to commercialize Intellectual Property resulting from their own research or that of their group.

Learning Objectives

This action-oriented course aims to inspire and develop entrepreneurial skills through the use of tasks and activities which have been customized for the BIOINNO project.

After taking this course, participants will:

  • Understand entrepreneurship and bioinnovation
  • Learn how to inspire and motivate curiosity in venture creation and technology commercialization
  • Explore the role of creativity in IP commercialization
  • Determine how to unlock creativity and enterprise
  • Understand when an idea might be an opportunity
  • Investigate the key stages of converting research into customer ready products and services
  • Learn how to gather evidence about their opportunity
  • Comprehend how to communicate the value of their research
